The Red Selections

Banfi Col di Sasso- Italy
Made from a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet, the wine is intense with fresh red fruit aromas of red currants, red plums and wild strawberries. In the mouth it is smooth with balanced tannins and acidity.
A great “everyday drinking” wine that is suitable for pairing with beef stews, pasta dishes and mature cheeses.
$15.85 incl GST

Domaine de Bachellery Pinot Noir- France
Most don’t think of Pinot from Languedoc in Southern France, but if you’re looking for value, and an incredibly tasty wine, look no further. For those who like light bodied wine, this is the perfect wine to put a slight chill on. Enjoy aromas and flavors of strawberries, cranberries, red currant, blueberries and hints of cinnamon and wet leaves. Pair with a charcuterie board of meats and soft cheeses or try with creamy chicken and pork dishes.

White and Rosé Selections

Ippolito Mare Bianco- Italy
Made from Greco Bianco from Calabria, the “toe” of Italy’s boot, this native grape serves up a lively, fresh, fruity wine reminiscent of being by the sea. Nothing says beach and sand like this wine. Yes, it’s certainly appropriate for the patio in summer but during the cold, snowy, dreary days of winter, nothing brings you back to the sun and sand like this wine. Lemon verbena, tropical fruits and high acidity just make you want to dive in for another sip. Excellent with sushi, pasta and grilled white fish
$22.15 incl GST

Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut Rose- France
A rosé bubbly treat made from 100% Cabernet Franc that features the savory note of green pepper, yet with loads of raspberry and strawberry notes and those ever-present brioche/biscuit notes coming from the fermentation. The term “cremant” refers to wine made in the traditional method, outside the region of Champagne. Perfect for the holidays and the Christmas table as it’s a perfect match with turkey. If you want to keep it easy, pair with savoury appetizers or even with dessert: puff pastry filled with cream cheese and raspberries, shortbread, or pound cake with fresh berries.
$28.45 incl GST
Port

Taylor’s 10 yr Tawny- Portugal
Fladgate is a name synonymous with port and port production. They are one of the oldest of the founding Port houses, making wine since 1692, and one of the most respected producers of the 10-year Tawny. This port has a deep brick colour with amber rim. Rich and elegant nose combining aromas of ripe berry fruit with a delicate nuttiness and subtle mellow notes of chocolate, butterscotch and fine oak wood. Smooth and silky on the palate and full of ripe figgy, jammy flavors which persist on the long finish. Serve with almonds, berry fruit and dark chocolate desserts.
$35.80 incl GST

How to store your wine
Most of the wines that will be sold in Joyful Wine Club campaigns will be ready to drink now, but they can often be cellared for longer. The product information notes will recommend cellaring time if the wine can be cellared for longer than a few years. Store bottles on their side – don’t stand them up if they have a cork enclosure.
Wine also needs to be stored in a cool, dark, dry place in your house, away from any direct heat source and sunlight. Most of us do not have temperature regulated wine cellars, but storing wine on the north wall of an unfinished basement works well. A closet or wine rack are other options. By keeping your wines cool and dark during storage, you create a more stable environment for ageing your wines.
