Cheryl Balay

Cheryl became Director of Operations in 2014. She has worked in arts administration for much of her career, holding positions of General Manager of Cosmopolitan Music Society for10+ years, General Manager of Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre Society for 8+ years, Cultural Director for 15+ years for the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians, and various contracts with administrative duties for Song In Motion, Sing for Life and Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts, among others. In addition to Board experience with non-profits and charities, as well as her passion for singing, Cheryl is an accomplished conductor, currently with three choirs each week: Sound Opportunity, Sturgeon Unity Singers and Daytime Drop-In Choir. In 2019 she received the Con Spirito Award from Choir Alberta in recognition of her dedication to choral music.

Amber Krawiec

Amber has been the Office Manager for A Joyful Noise since 2016. She enjoys working with the amazing people at A Joyful Noise and has had the opportunity to sing with thursday and monday choirs, both in the soprano section and as a soloist. Amber received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta – Augustana in 2010 and since then has continued to sing with choirs in Edmonton, including Pro Coro Canada, and studied voice for many years with AJN’s founder, Eva Bostrand. When she’s not singing, Amber is also an avid photographer and mom to two little girls.

Lorraine Albert

Lorraine joined the Joyful office team in 2020, just in time to host a lot of Zoom rehearsals!  She is a longtime member of monday choir, and has enjoyed getting to know more AJN singers through her role as Choir Administrator.  Lorraine’s background as a video editor has led her to assist with choir videos and social media, and she serves as choir coordinator for both Monday and Wednesday choirs.  Outside of choir, Lorraine can often be found flying to BC to visit her family and 3 grandchildren.
